Adasa has carried out work involving the replacement and renewal of equipment for measuring the flow and injecting sodium hypochlorite in the trunk pipe supplying the La Rinconada tank, as well as the necessary civil engineering in chambers or tanks to house them so that the flow-measuring and chlorination devices are physically independent, thereby making the facilities more functional and easier to operate and maintain, preventing exposure of flow-measuring equipment to corrosive atmospheres.

The main measures involved in project are:
• Demolition of the current chamber containing the flow meter and sodium hypochlorite dosing equipment, and preparation of a provisional support for the existing piping
• Excavation for the construction of the new chamber
• Installation of a provisional sodium hypochlorite injection system
• Disassembly of existing equipment and assembly of a unit consisting of a flow meter, dismantling joint, wall sleeve and hypochlorite injector; connection at the ends of the concrete pipe with a sheet-metal sleeve, with special attention to the dismantling of the existing pressure transmitter
• Construction of a reinforced concrete distribution box with inner dimensions of 2.15 x 3.15 x 2.70 m and two independent chambers, one for the flow meter and one for the hypochlorite dosing equipment. The chamber will have three entrances fitted with covers and ductile cast-iron railings with a diameter of 700 mm, polypropylene steps and a pot for collecting any spills, with extraction thereof by a portable submersible pump.
• Assembly of a forced draft system inside the chamber compartments
• Execution of steel facing on the chamber perimeter for installing equipment
• Erection of a prefabricated concrete cabinet for the installation of the flow meter electronics and electrical equipment for control, monitoring and protection
• Supply and installation of a new opaque 500 l tank made of HDPE for sodium hypochlorite, including the connections and accessories required for proper its operation and inspection, emptying, filling, etc.
• Installation of a prefabricated concrete cabinet for the existing dosing pump, on a stainless steel bench, including the necessary pipes, valves and accessories for it to be connected to the sodium hypochlorite injection line and to the tank on which it draws
• Construction of underground piping consisting of 2 double-walled corrugated PVC pipes with a diameter of 160 mm with the corresponding connection boxes
• Mounting of trays and ducts for cables, and cable laying and connections
