Project to stop sewerage discharges into the old course of Arroyo Almonazar and to divert them to the wastewater pumping station of San José de La Rinconada

Empresa Metropolitana de Abastecimiento y Saneamiento de Aguas de Sevilla, S.A. (EMASESA)

Areas of Activity: Hydraulic Infrastructures

Sectors of Operation: Drainage Networks

The main aim of this project is to redirect discharges of sewerage, which were initially going directly into the Almonazar stream in the Malecón de Almonazar area, to a wastewater pumping station (WWPS), so that it may raise the wastewater to a height from which it may circulate by gravity through the general sewage network of San José de La Rinconada.

In the construction of this WWPS, Adasa has carried out the following tasks:
• Construction of a bypass tank and suction chamber for the pump units
• Construction of a discharge chamber over the 500 mm drain that discharges into the San José de La Rinconada WWPS
• Supply and installation of electromechanical equipment (submersible pump units) and an isolation gate
• Prefabricated concrete building for housing power and control boards
• Associated instrumentation (level meters, level switches, etc.)
• Demolition and replacement of pavements affected by the works
• Supply and installation of power supply and control boards
• Installation of the LV electrical conduits (trays, pipes, cable troughs, etc.) required, electricity supply and control lines and conductor connections
• Legalization of LV facilities
• PLC programming and screens
